Main events in the history of Pescaderías Coruñesas

King Henry II exempts them from the payment of the “Portazgo”, (a tax that all muleteers had to pay upon reaching any city of the Kingdom), because of their excellent work.
The Crown of Spain entrusts the Maragatos muleteers with the collection of the taxes and the transfer of the gold that came from the Indies from the port of entry to the Court.
The Maragatos are famed for defending their herd with their life.
